Bio

Born March 25, 1989, Michalka began acting at age 5 in stage productions produced by churches her family attended outside Seattle, Washington, and in Thousand Oaks, California. She was featured in numerous musicals including "Jailhouse Rock" and "A Time to Remember." The talented teen was subsequently a featured soloist on two recordings for WORD Music, "Jailhouse Rock" and "Meet Me at the Manger."
Michalka, who plays piano and guitar, also writes music and sings with her younger sister Amanda in a pop music duo "Aly & A.J." The sisters are currently working in the recording studio with award-winning music producers Ray and Greg Cham (Disney Channel Original Movies "The Cheetah Girls," "Full Court Miracle").

When she's not acting, Michalka enjoys drawing. Her artistic talent was noticed by Hallmark Cards when, at just age 10, her greeting card design won the nationwide Hallmark Kids Card Contest. Lately, Michalka is interested in fashion and sewing and has plans to design a clothing line.

The Torrance, California native has two dogs, Saint and Bandit, and lives with her parents and sister in Los Angeles

Fun Facts:
- Alyson used to have braces. Phil of the Future was the first role she auditioned for after she got her braces off and she got the part!
- "Phil of the Future" was originally called "Out of Timers."
- Her sister Amanda (A.J.) has been the TV shows "The Guardian," "Oliver Beene," "General Hospital," and many others.
- She doesn't have her room covered in teen posters...she likes to have a mature looking room.
- She says her and her character Keely are almost exactly alike, except Keely's style is a little crazier.
- The cross necklaces her and A.J. wear a lot were made in the 1800's.
- She likes being homeschooled...she can be in a relaxed enviornment with the dogs in the house while she learns.
- She likes the show "Passions," and so does her co-star Amy Bruckner. (Pim)
- She wrote the song "No One" which was on the "Ice Princess" movie soundtrack. The song opened the movie.
- She says her mom and her dad are great cooks.
- Aly and A.J. love music artists that write their own songs and play instruments, just like they do.
- She likes History & lanuage arts class.
- She loves Converse shoes.
- She thinks her and A.J. have very similar tastes on make-up, fashion, and boys.
- She loves MAC eye shadow.
- She loves her eyelash curler.
- She was in the middle of hurrican Ivan while they were trying to film her movie "Now You See It" in New Orleans. They had to leave New Orleans and sit in a bus for many hours.
- She loves to read, that's what she does to relax.
- Her favorite sport is hunter jumping. (horses)
